Placed on Morris Avenue in 1937 by the Elizabeth Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, this monument honors William Livingston; a member of the First Continental Congress, signer of the US Constitution, and New Jersey’s first elected governor.

This summer, with the help of , we were able to carefully salvage a piece of Liberty Hall’s forgotten and valuable history by moving the monument to its permanent resting place. Moving this piece now enables all visitors to see another piece of New Jersey’s history!

As nostalgia goes, to assist with the re-dedication, the Color Guard of the NJ Society of the American Revolution proudly marched and stood in front of Livingston’s home with the monument.

In Celebration of Women in Horticulture Week/Month, Liberty Hall would like to show appreciation to our very own Megan Couch. Megan is our grounds manager extraordinaire. Whether it’s managing the Arboretum inventory, plant collections, coordinating each season’s beautiful flower selections, maintaining our roses, lawns & everything associated with our gorgeous grounds you can bet Megan is not far away from the action. She’s a rockstar of the staff & we appreciate all your efforts Megan, Rock On! 🤘
