Today's ‘stained glass art’ was a difficult concept for the kids initially. They were excited, however, to customize their art, including adding a little glue where glue was not needed. They also enjoyed reading to themselves and each other more than me reading, which was entertaining. They had fun, I had fun, and next week in Storytime we are on to sparkle ghosts!

Head Start came over, and while the kids loved the reading, the moving wings on their bats, and the ‘gorgeous stars’ they were less pleased with wet glue. In the end they did a great job, learned a few new skills, like hole punching, how to tell when the glue bottle is open, and the difference between regular and fancy scissors. My favorite was the little girl who repeatedly tried out echolocation when she learned bats could do it.

Just a reminder: please toss puzzles with missing pieces instead of returning them. We are blessed to have more puzzles than shelf space and will be minimizing our collection again. We’d rather use our space for complete puzzles.

Don’t forget! You don’t need a library card to borrow a puzzle!
