The Union County Council on Aging offers numerous services aimed at keeping the senior citizens of Union County living independently and productively. Our goals of promoting health and wellness, and our coordination of key services have provided the priceless gift of independence for many seniors in Union County. Founded in 1973, the Union County Council on Aging is a private nonprofit with 501(c)3 status.

SUMMARY: responsible for planning, coordinating, and conducting various activities at senior centers and nutrition sites.
Essential Duties AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise food service activities;
Plan and supervise nutrition, social\emotional, physical, and health education activities
Provide counseling and aid to participants in need of assistance
Keep center clean and neat.
Supervise center staff and volunteers.
Drive van when necessary.
Maintain accurate records, such as logs, meal report, vouchers, voluntary contributions, client files, volunteer hour reports, etc. Timely submits records in proper manner to the agency.
Develop and execute monthly activity calendar.
Abide by rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the agency.
Attend and successfully complete training as required by the agency.
Perform related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY Responsibilities: Supervise staff and volunteers to ensure that activities and food services are carried out in accordance with requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required by the individual in this position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate degree with some experience in human services desired, or any equivalent combination of training and experiences which provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills.

This message bears repeating. The Union Council On Aging provides services to EVERY edge of Union County for our seniors and adults with disabilities. Based on vicinity, hot meals are delivered at NO COST every day or five frozen meals are delivered weekly for microwave. Additional weekend food boxes are given for those who cook at request as well as other services that may be needed. In Lockhart, a group of 25 seniors met together and all applications were done within 3 hours by two intake assessors.. If your community in Union County would like to do something similar for your seniors, PLEASE CONTACT US and we will help to make this happen! Many seniors cannot do this process on their own, and they deserve our help. ❤️

Almost three years in the making, Union County Council on Aging received two new Ford Transit passenger vans this morning. A very special thanks to the person who made this possible along with our very on walk in freezer too. This will enable us to serve more seniors throughout the county. If you or someone you know is 60 or older I encourage you to reach out and become part of one of our Senior Centers.
