๐Ÿš” Union Police Department โ€” Making the Most of Our Resources

We wanted to take a moment to explain something you may have seen on social media

The Union Police Department recently took an older Dodge out of its previous service role. Rather than letting the vehicle sit unused, we have put it to work as a vehicle for our Detective.

Today, that decision proved valuable.

A motorist became stranded on Old Springfield Road after their vehicle ran out of gas. At the time, our other officers were unavailable because they were handling other calls for service. Our Detective was able to respond in the Dodge and assist the stranded motorist who was in a dangerous area to be broken down.

This is a great example of how we try to make the most of the resources available to the Union Police Department. Even an older vehicle can still serve a purpose and help us provide service to our community when our other officers are tied up on calls.

Our goal is simple: use what we have, be good stewards of taxpayer resources, and be there for our citizens whenever we can.

As always, if you ever have a question about something you see from the Union Police Department or simply want to know why we do something a certain way, please feel free to ask us. We are always willing to communicate with the citizens we serve.

Thank you for your continued support of the Union Police Department! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿš”

Today was the first day of school at Union Elementary. SRO Langenkamp went into the classrooms to discuss bike and electric scooter safety to all of the kids. It was a great first day and it was great to see all of the smiling faces that were happy to be back in school.

Remember 20 MPH in the school zone . Do not block residence driveways when dropping off your kids.
