⚠️ Notice for Union Public Library Patrons ⚠️

Due to a malfunction with our air conditioning system, the Union Public Library is currently experiencing excessive indoor temperatures.

At this time, we plan to remain open during the mornings. However, depending on conditions inside the building, we may need to close during the afternoons until the air conditioning has been repaired.

The safety and comfort of our patrons and staff are our top priorities. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Learn about the importance of keeping our communities clean and beautiful through MDOT's "Don't Trash Mississippi" program. This engaging presentation will highlight how litter impacts our environment and what we can all do to help keep Mississippi litter-free.

🦕🦴 Dig into some prehistoric fun with us!

Join us on June 22 at J Elliot McMullan Public Library from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM for Clay Fossils! Participants will create their own fossil impressions using clay and learn a little about the creatures that roamed the Earth long ago.

This program is for ages 9 and up.

Come get your hands dirty and uncover your inner paleontologist—we hope to see you there!

Today, we celebrate all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, foster fathers, and father figures who encourage, support, teach, and inspire us every day.

All branches of the Kemper-Newton Regional Library System are closed today in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when news of emancipation reached enslaved people in Texas, more than two years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, it is recognized as a time to reflect on freedom, history, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

We will resume normal operating hours on Monday, June 22.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Juneteenth. ❤️🖤💚

Join us at 3:00 PM for Dino Masks, where kids can create their own prehistoric masterpiece and show off their dinosaur style. It's the perfect way to keep the Summer Reading fun roaring along!

We can't wait to see what kind of dinosaurs stomp through the library today! 🦕✨📚

We want to give a big thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us, and an extra special thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the day such a success. From activities and games to smiles and laughter, it was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the fun together.
