Kick off your Summer reading with this amazing FUN and FREE program with Union County Library! 📚

We’re kicking off Summer Reading a little early with a special visit from the South Carolina Aquarium! 🐢🐍

Join us on Thursday, May 28 at 3 PM at the Union County Carnegie Library to meet the Aquarium’s Education Outreach Team and see live animals up close.

This free program is open to all ages and is the perfect way to dive into this year’s Summer Reading theme: Unearth A Story.

From biography mobiles to researching inventions and U.S. presidents, to creating human displays of famous people, famous women one pagers, and shoebox parades of U.S. states, our Monarch Stars have been busy learning, creating, and researching! 🌟

Students also designed bottle head biographies of famous leaders, completed animal research projects, packed suitcases full of facts about countries around the world, created cereal boxes for famous leaders, designed posters of U.S. historical events, and even crafted a quilt highlighting American Revolutionary War battles and leaders.

Our librarian, Mrs. Poole, and our Monarch Stars have worked incredibly hard to complete these amazing research projects to close out the school year. We are proud of the creativity and learning that filled our halls!💙📝💛

From academic achievements to related arts recognitions and positive behavior celebrations, our students have worked so hard and grown in so many ways throughout this school year. We are incredibly proud of each Star for the dedication, perseverance, kindness, and leadership they have shown along the way.

🌟2nd grade classrooms became a road trip as the students toured across the country, rotating through different city stations. At each stop, they tackled themed math, reading, and writing tasks.
We wrapped up our big adventure the best way we know how - with popcorn, drinks, and freeze pops.

Our 5K, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students celebrated meeting their stretch goals with a popsicle party this afternoon. We are so proud of the hard work and growth these students have made this year.
