If you are in need of a warming station, due to a power outage, please contact the Monroe County 911 Center at (304) 772-3912.

Please remember that a Wind Chill Warning is in effect until 1:00 PM Saturday, December 24th, 2022. Dangerously cold wind chills are expected. Wind chills as low as 30 below zero. Temperatures will fall quickly leading to a flash freeze of liquid on the ground as well. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and strong winds will create dangerously low wind chill values. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia or death if precautions are not taken.
