Our Mentors were at it again last night, enjoying time with their assigned kids 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, doing some community service making blankets 🛏 for kids in need, and topping the night off with ice cream🍦! Special thanks to Project Linus of East Central Missouri and DeAnn's Dazzling Designs LLC for making this happen for our kids!

Every fall, our coalition hosts a gathering for Franklin County middle schoolers. The students learn from First Responders, people with lived experience, and prevention specialists about the impacts of substance use. Even with a very limited budget, we were able to educate almost 400 pre-teens last year!

Boy, oh boy! Our kids are winning BIG with their Mentors! TWO of our youth have won a Nintendo Switch playing games at The Alley and Union Bowling Alley while on outings! They are also getting in some community service, doing everything from working at Caped Crusaders Cat Rescue, the FC Humane Society and calling BINGO at Crabapple Nursing Home. Each one of them will also get to visit East Central College with their ECC student Mentors to see that life after High School can be fun, too! 🤩

Our child welfare community needs YOU!

We are in need of a caring community members that can support the work we do. Everybody can do something! It could be volunteering your time to to recruit foster families (respite, traditional, or emergency), assisting with training, putting a newsletter together, providing respite, or building the foster community networking with other organizations, etc.! There are so many different ways we can build/support our foster community. We need volunteers to help out at events, help at foster appreciation date night, and all the other things we do! We need collaboration and connections across the community to grow as a group that supports and recruits foster families!
