We're looking for community members who want to help make this year's celebration the best one yet. Whether you have a few hours to volunteer during the event or would like to serve on the Christmas Committee and help plan everything from the parade and entertainment to decorations, vendors, and sponsorships—we'd love to have you!

Whether you'd like to:
🎅 Help plan the event throughout the year

🌟 Serve Your Community – Join the Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority Board! 🌟

The Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority (UDBDA) is accepting Letters of Interest from individuals interested in serving on our Board of Directors.

The UDBDA is dedicated to strengthening Downtown Uniontown by supporting local businesses, encouraging economic development, coordinating community events, and promoting projects that make our downtown a vibrant place to live, work, shop, and visit. Our mission is to provide centralized management, information, and programs that enhance Downtown Uniontown’s economy—both now and into the future. 

Who is eligible?
Applicants must be:
✔️ A taxpayer in the City of Uniontown,
✔️ A business owner or operator in the City of Uniontown, or
✔️ A resident of the City of Uniontown. 

If you’re passionate about the future of Downtown Uniontown and want to help make a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

Please submit a Letter of Interest describing your background and why you would like to serve.

Letters of Interest will be forwarded to Uniontown City Council for consideration as they make the appointment to fill the board vacancy.

🌟 Meet Our UDBDA Intern – Seth Basinger!

As we celebrate National Intern Day, we're proud to recognize Seth Basinger for the dedication, professionalism, and fresh perspective he brought to the Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority (UDBDA) this summer.

Seth is pursuing a double major in Finance and Accounting while maintaining a strong academic record and developing a passion for economic and community development. His career goals include helping businesses and communities grow through sound financial management and strategic planning.

Throughout his internship, Seth played an important role in preparing the UDBDA for its annual audit by organizing financial records, improving documentation, and helping strengthen administrative processes. He also supported the Authority's efforts to market Uniontown's Central Business District, assisted with planning for the proposed Business Improvement District (BID), and contributed ideas that will help shape the future of downtown revitalization.

Whether assisting with economic development initiatives, researching new opportunities, or supporting day-to-day operations, Seth consistently demonstrated a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine commitment to serving the community. His willingness to learn and take on new challenges made him a valuable member of our team.

Outside of the office, Seth is equally dedicated to leadership and teamwork. A lifelong soccer player, he will be stepping into a new role this season as an assistant high school soccer coach, where he'll have the opportunity to mentor young athletes and share his passion for the game.

Thank you, Seth, for your hard work and the many contributions you've made to the UDBDA and Fay-Penn this summer. We appreciate your commitment to making a difference in our communities and look forward to seeing all you accomplish in your academic, professional, and coaching career.

Strong communities are built through collaboration - and we’re fortunate to work alongside dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference. This week, our Acting Director, Crystal Simmons, was featured by Fay-Penn Economic Development Council for her work advancing community and economic development throughout Fayette County.

In addition to serving as Fay-Penn’s Director of Grants, Crystal supports the Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority by working alongside Chairman Joey Neubauer and the UDBDA Board of Directors to pursue funding opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and advancing initiatives that support the continued revitalization of Downtown Uniontown. Her work reflects a shared commitment between Fay-Penn and the UDBDA to invest in Uniontown’s future through strategic planning, collaboration, and community-driven initiative’s.

Congratulations, Crystal, on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you to Fay-Penn Economic Development Council for highlighting the people working every day to strengthen our communities!
