As a reminder to our community, open burning in Ohio is regulated by the Ohio EPA to help protect air quality and keep our neighborhoods safe.
✅ What you should know:
Certain materials are prohibited from being burned at all times, including yard waste, garbage, tires, plastics, and treated wood.
Recreational fires (like campfires) and cooking fires are generally allowed, but must be small and controlled.
During the spring and fall months, additional restrictions are in place—no open burning during daylight hours ( 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) in many areas.
Always check for local ordinances and weather conditions before burning.
🚨 Why it matters:
Illegal burning can create dangerous air pollution, reduce visibility, and pose serious health and fire risks.
On the Ohio EPA website there are brochures you can see that give the information of what can or cannot be burned.

The picture below is something we may receive a complaint about. We recommend you take your yard debris to the yard waste disposal behind Lake Township road department on Midway. Go to the Lake Twp. Office on Market to get a $25 card to access the gate to dump yard waste.
