Benton Township is mourning one of our own this week. Lynn Stevens served our community for decades as the Benton Township Trustee and as a Board Member. His knowledge, dedication, and passion for our community is unmatched. I will miss his valuable perspective and sharp sense of humor.

Obituary: https://thefuneralchapel.net/book-of-memories/5659345/Stevens-Lynn-Allan/index.php

This week at our last township board meeting of the year, I, along with the other township board members, had the honor of presenting a Lifetime Service Award to Lynn Stevens, who is retiring at the end of the month. He has served the residents of Benton Township for 30 years as an elected official, and for many more as our local barber. Thank you Lynn!

The Monroe County Health Department has Lead Risk Assessors and Lead Inspectors on staff, licensed by the Indiana Department of Health, who can determine the existence, nature, severity, and location of lead-based paint hazards. When there is a confirmed report of a child with an elevated blood lead level, a home visit and risk assessment are required where the risk assessors collect samples of dust, paint, soil, water, and other materials to help identify surfaces or items that contain lead.
