I was confused about STLCO Prop C. The ballot language left out a big piece of the proposition. Here is a better explanation:

Proposition C, if passed, would grant the St. Louis County Council a larger window of time to change the pay of elected officials. Currently, the pay for county executive, assessor and prosecuting attorney must be set at least 10 months before an election. If Prop C passes, those positions’ pay could be changed any time before terms of office begin, including during the election cycle.

The proposition’s passage would not change the provision in the state constitution that says pay raises for elected officials cannot go into effect during their term. If passed, it would also make all inaugurations occur on the first Tuesday in January. Currently, County Council members are sworn in on the first Tuesday in January after an election, and the county assessor, executive and prosecutor are sworn in on the second Tuesday.

My husband and I were walking to Cibo on Hanley. The weeds were so overgrown that you had to step off the sidewalk onto the road. I reported this to the county (county road) via this link. The county cut it back that day and let me know (not a pretty job but utilitarian).
