July is Parks and Rec Month, and we have a lot of activities at the pool! Yesterday was the "Community Biggest Splash Contest." Pictured are all of the contestants before the competition, and the 5 winners with their prizes (which were awarded by school grade levels), and some examples of some great splash attempts.

"Do you wanna build a snowman?" ☃🎼🎶🎵The summer's getting hot, so that might be difficult! So we've got the next best thing - a "cool" one for the UP Pool's first Dive-in Movie of the summer!
Come up to the Holmes Aquatic Center this Friday night and watch "Frozen" from the comfort of the pool - just like snowmen do "in summer!" ⛄🎶🎵

Are you interested in being part of breaking an official Guinness World Record? Are you interested in a free water safety lesson? You can do both this Thursday, June 25, 8:15-8:45 AM, at the Holmes Aquatic Center (AKA "The UP Pool)!
We're once again a host site for the annual, national and international World's Largest Swimming Lesson! The record that we hope to help break is the record for the most individuals taking a swim lesson on the same day around the world!
And you will be pleasantly surprised at how much water safety we can cover in a 30 minute class! Registration is free and can be done through CivicRec (see the QR code), or you may register for free on site, the morning of the event.
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

The storm this morning has moved on. Swim team practice and Shark School lessons will proceed as scheduled and the pool will open to the general public at 10 AM.

The pool will have a delayed opening again this morning due to the inclement weather and proximity of lightning.
We will keep updating this as we see how the weather progresses.
7-8 AM Senior swim is cancelled for today.
