CUB Lab at UM Welcome to the CUB Lab's page! We study social and cognitive development across the lifespan, with an emphasis on infancy and early childhood.

We are a nonprofit organization at the University of Mississippi dedicated to studying children's cognitive and social development. The Cognition Underlying Behavior (CUB) Lab is a developmental research lab in the Department of Psychology at The University of Mississippi. We are interested in how children come to control their thought and behavior and what supports this development. In addition,

we study how this control relates to other social and cognitive processes, like social understanding and memory. We work with children in our laboratory on campus, as well as in preschools and schools. We are always looking to work with participants across a wide age range!

Meet our RA, Caitlyn! 🧸🧸🧸 Hi! I’m Caitlyn Birk and I’m a senior from Louisville, KY. I am majoring in Southern Studies and double minoring in Neuroscience and Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduating, I plan to go to graduate school and pursue a career in speech pathology.
