We train outstanding high school seniors who want to make a difference to become change agents for M Funded by the Robert M.

The Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program (METP) is a collaboration between The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and Mississippi State University (MSU) to attract the top performing students to teacher education programs with valuable full scholarships and invaluable professional incentives. Our goal is to attract top-performing high school seniors who want to become teachers in Mississip

pi to help meet the demands of Common Core standards. All students who enter the program make a five-year commitment to teach in Mississippi after graduation. Hearin Support Foundation in Jackson, the program is designed to create a unique “honors college style” learning experience for high achieving education students and promote collaboration between students and faculty at both universities.

This rainy day in Oxford is making us wish we were back abroad when it was sunny and 75☀️ This past summer our senior cohort traveled back to Scandinavia to learn more about their education system. These two weeks were filled with many tours of schools, sightseeing, and even some karaoke! 🤩🎤

Lauren Fiedler and Celie Hunt volunteered at More than a Meal on Tuesday to help provide support for any children that need academic tutoring! Both are METP graduates from Ole Miss and teachers at Central Elementary.

We are excited to share our Seniors announced as Taylor Medalist and recipients of the Who’s Who award. Over the past four years, these eleven young women have shown endless hard work and dedication in serving this University.
