Clayton County Health District The Clayton County Health District located at 1117 Battle Creek Road in Jonesboro, GA, A place where people are safe, healthy, and empowering to thrive.

Located in the heart of Clayton County in Jonesboro, Ga., the Clayton County Board of Health (CCBOH), Public Health District 3-3 strives to improve the overall health status of the Clayton community. The mission of the CCBOH is to protect, promote, and improve the health of Clayton residents, and as such, we offer both prevention (population-based health) and clinical (personal health) services. P

roviding immunizations for school-aged children, inspecting local restaurants and pools for safety and cleanliness, and preparing families for emergencies and disasters are just a few of the population-based services CCBOH provides. We also oversee a number of health promotion initiatives that include, but are not limited to, the prevention of diabetes and hypertension, teen pregnancy, and premature birth. Early intervention services for children ages 0-3 at risk of developmental delay or poor health outcomes are just one of several clinical services provided by the CCBOH. We also offer: Dental health services for children, which includes screenings and sealants; resources for children with special needs; reproductive health services; screening and treatment for sexually-transmitted infections (STIs), HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis; in-home health education for young and expecting mothers who qualify; and supplemental nutrition and nutrition education for eligible pregnant, post-partum, breastfeeding women, and children from birth to age five (5), through our Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. Through a variety of prevention, health, and safety services provided by nurses, health educations, environmental health inspectors, nutritionists, dental providers, and other support staff, the CCBOH works to improve the lives of Clayton residents where they work, play, learn, and live.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we are grateful to everyone who joined us for the Breaking the Silence: Behavioral Health Summit.

This community conversation brought together residents, healthcare professionals, community organizations, and advocates to discuss mental health, healing, recovery, and hope. Through honest dialogue and shared experiences, participants explored ways to reduce stigma and strengthen support for individuals and families throughout Clayton County.

Thank you to Odyssey Family Counseling Center for making this event possible. We also extend our appreciation to our speakers, including Dr. Patrice Harris, MD, our panelists, vendors, and everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and personal experiences.

Mental health is an important part of overall health. Clayton County Health District remains committed to connecting our community with information, resources, and partnerships that support health and well-being for all.

Love your liver. ❤️

During Hepatitis Awareness Month, take time to learn your risks and protect your health. Hepatitis B and C often have no symptoms, which means many people may not know they are living with the disease. Early detection can help prevent serious complications and protect your future.

Talk with your healthcare provider about whether hepatitis testing or vaccination may be right for you.

Clayton County Health District supports our community through hepatitis education, disease monitoring and prevention efforts. We also offer hepatitis vaccinations through our immunization services.
