---About---

Welcome to the official page of the United States Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort Chapel, maintained by the MCAS Beaufort Chapel Staff. We welcome your comments, but personal advertising, libel and vulgar posts will be removed.

---Mission---

The Mission of the MCAS Beaufort Chapel is to facilitate and support the religious and spiritual needs of all Military Personnel, Government Employees, and their families. We take pride in maintaining the freedoms guaranteed to all Americans by the 1st and 14th Amendments to the Constitution of the United States.

---What are Chaplains? What do they do?---

Chaplains are commissioned officers of a specific religious faith. Chaplains serve as religious/spiritual leaders, advisors, counselors, and teachers. Most importantly, your Chaplain serves to guarantee the free exercise of religion. As a counselor, Chaplains are bound by confidentiality.

---What are RPs? What do they do?---

An RP is a “Religious Programs Specialist”. An RP provides secular administrative assistance to the Chaplain. The RP sets up and breaks down religious services. Although duties are technically the same when an RP is assigned to a Marine Unit, one distinction is that when deployed the RP serves as the Chaplain’s physical protection.

Good afternoon everyone! A couple of announcements for the Chapel.
1. Protestant services will not be held at the chapel this weekend (07/ 26) due to Chaplain West being on leave. They will resume the following week. Catholic services will be held at the normal time.
2. Due to unforseen circumstances, Vacation Bible School will have to be canceled this year. We sincerely apologize, as we were looking forward to its return, but we are already planning for next year.

Good evening! I am excited to announce that we will be starting a Divorce Care recovery group at the chapel beginning Wednesday, July 1, at 1500 in the small chapel. This is a 13-week program designed for people who have recently gone through a divorce, or are currently going through divorce, to guide them on the path of recovery. In all of my years as a chaplain, the one thing I have found that affects readiness at all levels, be it emotional, mental, spiritual, legal, financial, or even physical, is divorce. Divorce Care is a program that over 1 million people have gone through and have found comfort and hope in the aftermath of a divorce. This program will be for active-duty service members and spouses of service members. Due to the sensitive nature of this course, we do ask that former spouses do not attend together so that everyone feels safe to communicate. The group size is limited to 15 participants, and all materials are provided. It will be first-come, first-serve, so make sure you call the chapel at 228–7445, or email RP2 Flores, RP2 Dycus, or myself to be placed on the class list. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I will be happy to answer them. – Chaplain West.

Photos from today’s “Blessing of the Bikes”! Had a great turnout, and others have come by that couldn’t make it to the event. Riders and their bikes were prayed over, and then given cards to keep on them with a Biker’s Blessing printed on them.

Good morning! We will be having a “Blessing of the Bikes” at the chapel parking lot on Wednesday, 03 June, at 1130, for all motorcycle riders on base. Now that riding season is here, this is an opportunity to pray for protection for all of our riders on base! Hope to see you there!
