Additionally, the Medical Examiner's Office is represented on a variety of local committees and works closely with many agencies. The Medical Examiner's Office is part of a multidisciplinary team (including law enforcement agencies and the District Attorney's Office) which investigates and, if necessary, prosecutes cases in which death is suicidal, accidental, homicidal, unexplained, unusual, suspicious, sudden or where a physician cannot or will not sign a death certificate.
