We are excited to be participating in the 2017 Police Unity Tour Challenge Ride in memory of Corporal Nate Carrigan who was killed in the line of duty in February 2016. He loved being a cop.
2. Family was very important to him.
3. He loved everything about sports (athleticism, competition, teamwork, etc.) For those same reasons, we feel participating in the tour is a great way to memorialize him. The Police Unity Tour’s motto is: “We Ride for Those Who Died” and we raise awareness about America’s fallen officers. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial honors America’s fallen law enforcement heroes who have died in the line of duty. Their mission is to tell the story of America’s law enforcement officers and make it safer for those who serve. Our participation in the Police Unity Tour helps sponsor the Memorial and its programs like the Officer of the Month Award, Recently Fallen Alert notifications and other special projects. The members that make up this team are:
• Michael Arroyo (Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office) and his wife Letitia Arroyo
• Mathew Johnson (Black Hawk Police Department) and his wife
Heather McCubbin-Johnson
• Jeremiah Carrigan (Black Hawk Police Department) and his wife Paula Carrigan
Over the course of three days, the tour will take us from Somerset, New Jersey to Washington DC. While Michael, Mathew and Jeremiah will be riding, Letitia, Heather and Paula will be supporting by helping set up food and drink stations for the riders as well as doing other supporting tasks along the route. With every dollar that we raise for the Police Unity Tour, we are doing our part to honor our nation’s law enforcement officers. Any amount at all will help us reach our goal and help us honor Corporal Nate Carrigan. Please help by supporting our fundraising efforts with a donation! Thank you for time and generous support!
