August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month!

Breastfeeding has been shown to reduce the risk of several childhood illnesses & conditions including asthma, obesity, Type 1 diabetes, ear & respiratory infections, and SIDS. Research also shows that mothers who breastfeed have a lowered risk of breast and ovarian cancer, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure.

🚨 Air Quality Advisory for Ohio 🚨

The Ohio EPA has issued an Air Quality Advisory due to smoke from Canadian wildfires impacting air quality across the state. Air quality may reach the "Unhealthy" range, which can affect everyone's health—especially those most at risk, including children, older adults and those with asthma, COPD, heart disease or other respiratory or cardiovascular conditions. Please avoid strenuous outdoor activities, shorten time spent outdoors, or wait outside until conditions improve.

The advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve. Stay informed by monitoring local air quality updates at www.AirNow.gov and following guidance from the Ohio EPA.

✅ Wear EPA-approved mosquito repellents
✅ Wear long sleeves and pants when possible
✅Empty standing water around your home to reduce breeding sites.
