It's Wear Orange Weekend, a time to raise awareness about gun violence and the urgent need to end it.

Far too many lives are being lost to senseless acts of violence. Pulling a gun and taking a life is never the answer. There are other ways to resolve conflict—ways that don't leave families shattered forever.

Every day, young lives full of promise are cut short, leaving behind parents, siblings, children, grandparents, and friends who must learn to live with an unimaginable loss. When a parent loses a child, the grief does not fade with time. It becomes a lifelong journey of carrying the love, memories, and heartbreak of someone who should still be here.

This weekend, we wear orange to honor those whose lives were taken, to support the families left behind, and to stand together in hope that one day no family will have to experience this pain.
Wear orange. Remember their names. Be a voice for change. 🧡

Say their names. Tell their stories.

Every face you see represents a life that mattered—a person who was loved, who laughed, who dreamed, and who left an imprint on the hearts of those who knew them. Behind every photo is a family who will love them forever and carry them in their hearts until they are reunited once again.

Their memories will never fade. Their lives were so much more than the way they died.

While we often speak about how their lives were taken, we must also remember how they lived. We must remember their smiles, their personalities, their passions, their quirks, and the love they shared with others. They were sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, friends, teammates, classmates, and so much more.

Today, I encourage you to share a story about your loved one. Tell us who they were. Tell us what made them special. Tell us what made you laugh, what made you proud, and what memories you cherish most.

Let us honor them not only for the tragedy that took them from us, but for the beautiful lives they lived and the love they left behind.
