Since 1992, ROSE Community Development has been making sure that the chain of Outer Southeast Portland neighborhoods is as strong as it can possibly be. ROSE was created by neighborhood leaders working to revitalize outer southeast Portland. ROSE has played a pivotal role in these neighborhoods that have seen dramatic social and demographic changes. Our service area includes Brentwood-Darlington,
Foster-Powell, Lents, Mt. Our Programs and services focus primarily on households below 50% of Median Family Income. ROSE is known for its neighborhood focus, grassroots leadership and comprehensive, asset-based community development approach. ROSE has developed more than 430 affordable rental and for-sale homes, built two parks and created professional networks for in-home child care providers. Our Resident Assets Program provides services aimed at increasing family and youth success, through a multitude of unique programs and projects that help families achieve housing, lead healthy lives, and empower youth. ROSE has also been a leader in collaborative initiatives such as the Lents Homeownership Initiative, which created 320 new homeowners in five years, and the East Portland Action Plan, which has generated tens of millions of dollars in increased public investment in the city's most distressed neighborhoods.
