What a Fall Festival!

Our Fall Festival Fundraiser & Open House was an incredible success! From live music and family fun to vendors, a petting zoo, delicious treats, and plenty of fall spirit, it was a wonderful day of bringing our residents, families, friends, and community together—all while supporting an incredibly important cause.

We are especially proud to announce that The Reserve at Greenbrier has officially reached our property goal of $10,000 raised for the Alzheimer’s Association in just FOUR MONTHS! And we’re not done yet! With more fundraisers and events on the horizon, we’re excited to keep raising awareness, supporting the Alzheimer’s Association, and honoring all those whose lives have been touched by this disease.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible sponsors who helped make this event possible: MMC Metrology Labs, Iron Valley Realty, Caring Transitions, Smooth Transitions, and Garity Advantage. Your generosity and partnership mean so much to our residents and our entire community.

A Light in Their Memory

This weekend, our community came together for a beautiful and deeply emotional Luminary Ceremony honoring the loved ones we have lost to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Each glowing light represented a life, a memory, and a person who will never be forgotten.

There were moments of reflection, tears, stories, and quiet remembrance as we honored those who remain forever in our hearts. While our residents are not pictured out of respect for their privacy, we are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this tribute so meaningful.

We remembered. We honored. And we reminded ourselves that although memories may fade, love never does.

You’re Never Too Old to Have Fun!

Who says bounce houses are just for kids? Certainly not our residents! During our Fall Festival Fundraiser, a few of our residents decided to reconnect with their inner child and take a turn in the bounce house! And yes… it was every bit as fun—and hilarious—as you might imagine.

Did we laugh? YES.
Did we promise this would make our page? Again, YES!
Was it next to impossible to get out of the inflatable? Also YES!
Would we trade away the memories we made? Unequivocally NO!

These are the moments that remind us that age is just a number and you are never too old to laugh until your stomach hurts, try something ridiculous, and make memories with friends.

Here’s to staying young at heart—and always being willing to bounce into the next adventure!

Fall is in the air, and we’re celebrating with a day full of music, fun, family, and community—all while supporting our Walk to End Alzheimer’s team!

Join us Saturday, October 3, from 10 AM–2 PM at The Reserve at Greenbrier, 1005 Elysian Place, Chesapeake, VA 23320 for our Fall Festival Fundraiser & Open House!

What a joy—and an absolute honor—to showcase the many talents of our incredible team for the amusement and entertainment of our residents this week!

From Housekeeper John’s impressive dance moves, to the vocal stylings of our Community Relations Director Joan and Resident Experience Director Topher, to the celebrity impressions of our Executive Director Jenny, and the poetry jamming of our Business Office Manager Angie—our staff took the stage and brought the house down!

The biggest compliment of all? A standing ovation from our residents!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stepped outside their comfort zone and shared their talents with our community. And a special shoutout to all the wonderfully talented members of our team who are a little too shy for the limelight. We know there are plenty more hidden talents among us!

Whether we're singing, dancing, making people laugh, creating memories, or simply showing up every day with a smile, it's an honor to do what we do for our residents. You make The Reserve at Greenbrier a special place to call home—and we're grateful for every one of you.

This month’s Sinceri C.A.R.E.S. project was all about putting a little more joy between the pages! Our incredible residents of the activities and craft committee hand-made more than 500 bookmarks and distributed them to local primary and elementary schools!

Each bookmark is a small reminder that every great adventure starts with a good book—and thanks to our residents, hundreds of students now have a special keepsake to save their spot as they embark on their next reading adventure!

We are so proud of our residents for sharing their creativity, kindness, and love of reading with the next generation. Who knows? Maybe one of these bookmarks will mark the beginning of a lifelong love of books!
