Why did the turtle cross the road? 🐢🚨🚔🤔

It’s not every day you encounter a snapping turtle while on patrol. Officer Landa made sure it was safe until Lincoln Animal Control could arrive.

Become a cop. Every day is different!

It’s scarier than it looks! 😅 Could you climb 50' to the top of the UNL Challenge Course? It's all about teamwork!

Congratulations to our Spring 2026 academy class of Lincoln Police Department and Lancaster County Sheriff's Office recruits for recently completing this feat! 🚨🚔

Please help us wish good luck to sophomore outfielder Natalia Hill and Husker Softball in the NCAA Softball College World Series! They're taking on Arkansas in OKC tonight.

Natalia volunteers with our Northeast Team and will join our intern program next year.

So proud of our Spring 2026 academy class! All of them have made it to Week 20 of training AND completed the Murph Challenge on Memorial Day. 💪💦👟🇺🇸

15 LPD recruits, 2 lateral hires and 1 LSO recruit finished the workout in honor of the service and sacrifice of Lt. Michael P. Murphy - killed in 2005 in Afghanistan.

The challenge is a 1 mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats and then another 1 mile run.

Since 2014, the event has raised more than $2.25 million nationally for a memorial scholarship foundation named after Murphy.

Thanks to Lincoln Nutrition & Fitness: Home of CrossFit Lincoln for hosting us!

The 2026 Special Olympics Nebraska Summer Games are underway! 🔥🏅🏐

LPD was proud to welcome the torch to Lincoln as Guardians of the Flame during the Law Enforcement Torch Run last week.

Thank you to all who help us support such an important cause. Good luck, athletes!

It’s a changing of the guard. 📚🚨🚔

As retired LPD Captain and current LPS Security Director Joe Wright gets set to retire, LPD Threat Assessment Investigator Nate Hill is taking over his role.

Today, Inv. Hill presented at the district’s SRO and Administrator Training for the last time with LPD. All of our SROs attended the training, along with his successor.

We are grateful for this continued partnership with Lincoln Public Schools focused on keeping our kids safe.
