Concerns are growing about long ambulance waiting times at Wynn Hospital.

12/29/2025

Due to the inclement weather expected over the next 3 days, including high winds and heavy snow, we advise residents to stay home if travel is not necessary. If you must travel please give our plow operators plenty of room.
Thank you and be safe.

Most days our paramedics work on human patients, but every once in a while we encounter pets in emergency situations too. Paramedics Dan and Emrah were handed two cats from a structure fire today. One of the cats required CPR and both needed some oxygen but we are proud to say that both kitties are alive and doing well thanks to these guys and to New Hartford Fire for getting them out of the house. Our thoughts and prayers are with the homeowners.

Today Edwards Ambulance along with Clayville Fire Department, Willowvale Fire Company, LifeNet Helicopter, Smith Funeral Home and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office were at Sauquoit Valley High School for a mock DWI crash. This shows the students going into prom and graduation season the reality of what first responders find on scene with the hope that everyone makes smart decisions when driving or even riding with others. Distracted driving is just as dangerous as drinking and driving.

As EMS Week winds down, I am sitting home thinking about my day, as I do every evening. Tonight’s thoughts and reflections are not so much about celebrating EMS Week itself, rather our staff at Edwards Ambulance. Collectively, Edwards Ambulance cannot remain a successful entity and provide top-level prehospital care to our community without top-level providers.

Though we employ many wonderful and talented people, I would like to dedicate this post to some of the many providers who not only work for us, but also have been enrolled in school to further their education and continue to make a difference in this world.

The following providers are just a few of our talented staff that juggled work, family, school and many other daily demands, all while remaining professional and striving to help others in their time of need. Together, they truly make a difference and are working hard to make this world a better place.
