The 5th Brigade (Signal Corps) executed its Annual Training Brief (ATB) at the U.S. Army Signal School Headquarters on Fort Gordon from 12–15 January, 2026. Brigade Commander, COL Rebecca Tucker, brought together leaders from across the formation to resource future training events, address potential challenges, and engage in dialogue with Battalion Command Teams.

This year’s ATB emphasized transformation efforts as the brigade prepares to transition to the 1st Multi-Functional Training Brigade (1MFTB) in Fiscal Year 2027.

Good afternoon, Signal Leaders!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news from 5th Brigade (Signal Corps)!

First, please join us in congratulating our Brigade Safety Officer, MAJ Jazmine Scott, on her promotion to the rank of Major 🎉

Her leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact throughout her career and across the Soldiers of 5th Brigade (Signal Corps). This promotion is well deserved, and we look forward to the continued excellence she will bring as a field grade officer.

Last, but certainly not least, we proudly welcome the Assumption of Responsibility of our new HHC First Sergeant, 1SG Jody (Joe) Wilkins.

1SG Wilkins joins HHC after serving as the Senior Instructor at the Fort Gordon Signal School (High-Tech Gordon), where he led the training and development of thousands of highly skilled Signal Soldiers in support of the Army’s evolving Multi-Domain Signal Operations.

These ceremonies marked a significant moment for 5th Brigade as we celebrate our newest field grade officer and welcome a new chapter of leadership and guidance for HHC under 1SG Wilkins.

Leadership Visit!

5th Brigade (Signal Corps) was honored to welcome 80th Training Command (TASS) leadership with MG Dougherty, CSM James, and CW5 Darby visiting our headquarters over this past week. During the visit, MG Dougherty presented MSG Chaney with an 80th Training Command coin for scoring a perfect 600 on her Army Combat Fitness Test and she was also awarded the Master Army Instructor Badge!

MSG Chaney is one of our core full-time instructors providing 25B PME at the Signal School (D113) and serves as a critical member in support of our Army Program for Individual Training (ARPRINT) mission. Our 5th Brigade team is extremely proud of MSG Chaney’s continued dedication and most recent accomplishments.

MG Dougherty, CSM James, and CW5 Darby also took the time out of their trip to speak with our Soldiers and Civilians on the USARC Training Command consolidation and reorganization to improve efficiencies while continuing to meet our ARPRINT mission.

We were honored to welcome the 80th Training Command leadership and proud to have them recognize MSG Chaney while inspiring us to continue striving for the highest standards!

On November 19, 5th Brigade conducted the annual FIREBERD Summit to collaborate, plan and assign instructors mission in preparation for fiscal year 2026 ex*****on of the Army Program for Individual Training (ARPRINT). It was a great pleasure to meet the staff and instructors at High Tech Center - Sacramento, CA and thankful for hosting the event. it was an honor to work with the battalions Director of Instructions (DOI) for the successful ex*****on of the event. "Signal Ready! - Forging the Future!"
