Happy Holidays Harris County!

Carbon monoxide poisoning was by far the deadliest and most dangerous impact during the 2021 freeze. With the upcoming cold temperatures, check your carbon monoxide detectors & give space to your space heaters. Plug space heaters directly into wall outlets and NOT a power strip.

22/12/2022

If the power goes out during the severe cold, follow these steps to stay warm and stay safe. And always make sure you’re safely using heating sources, including generators, fireplaces, and space heaters.

21/12/2022

Due to the impending freeze, all Harris County Precinct One will close at 3PM tomorrow and will be closed all day Friday, Dec. 23 through Christmas Day, Dec. 25. Normal hours will resume on Dec. 26. You can find park information and plan your visit at hcp1.net/parks.

Where do I find the list of rules governing photography at Challenger Park? I live close to the park and have taken family photos there for years. I'm also a high school photography teacher. I have taken students there for the past few years to take pictures at the park. We were told by Chad Adkins that photography is prohibited at the park and we can no longer do that. When was that decision made and where are the rules prohibiting photography posted? I have a lot of questions.
Significant weather is moving through Harris County. Please continue rely on updates at ReadyHarris. Avoid high water on roadways.
I strongly oppose the 8% tax increase you are proposing. It appears that once Democrats get elected (no matter their position) all they want to do is increase taxes instead of looking closely at the budget on what can be either cut or eliminated.
Thanks for your beautiful and poignant remembrance of Hon. Mickey Leland on the anniversary of his death 30 years ago today. I remember him well from my days at the Capitol - he was indeed a force for good. Thank you for your service, too!
