☀️ HEAT WARNING
South-Central Texas is in for another stretch of hot and mostly dry weather, with temperatures climbing into the 90s and reaching above 100°F in some areas. Heat indices could reach 105–110°F, creating dangerous conditions for prolonged outdoor activity.
Stay safe:
• Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty
• Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day
• Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning
• Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle
• Check on elderly neighbors and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat
🔥 Wildfire danger remains a concern.
With dry vegetation and very little rain expected, it doesn't take much to start a brush fire. Vehicle exhaust, trailer chains dragging on pavement, welding and grinding, discarded ci******es, outdoor equipment, and other activities that create heat or sparks can quickly ignite dry grass and brush.
🚫 Burn bans are currently in effect in Travis and Hays counties. Please check current local restrictions before conducting any outdoor burning or activities that could create a fire.
A small spark can become a fast-moving grass fire in a matter of minutes. Help us protect our communities by staying alert, following burn restrictions, and avoiding activities that could start a fire.
🚒 Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay fire aware. Look out for your neighbors.
