For many families, the badge signifies more than a career — it embodies a legacy. For Michael P. Irey, it is a symbol deeply rooted in tradition.
Surrounded by his father, Upland Police Chief Michael K. Irey—a former sergeant for the Nether Providence Township Police Department—and
two uncles, NPPD Detective James Irey and Officer William Sweeney, the younger Irey graduated from the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy on Dec. 15.
Officer Irey has begun his career as a patrol officer with the Upland Police Department. Congratulations to Officer Irey. We wish you a safe and successful career.
