We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Genesis Community Church for their thoughtful and generous donations in honor of the fathers in our program.

Because of their kindness, our dads received care packages that included body wash, multipurpose tools, special treats, and gift cards—simple yet meaningful gifts that reminded them they are seen, valued, and appreciated.

Fathers are often overlooked when it comes to support and recognition, but Genesis Community Church helped shine a light on the incredible men in our program who are working hard every day to provide stability, love, and hope for their families.

Thank you for recognizing that fathers need encouragement too. Your generosity has made a lasting impact and helped our dads feel celebrated and supported.

From all of us at Foothill Family Shelter, thank you for helping us honor the fathers who are rebuilding their lives and creating brighter futures for their families!

HOME AT LAST 🏠 Netty, a single mother of three, is moving into permanent housing after a journey marked by resilience and unwavering dedication to her family.

When Netty first entered the program, she was living in her car with her two teenage children and younger son after the loss of her partner. With little support, financial instability, and an inconsistent, low-paying job, she entered the program with hope and a strong commitment to improve her family’s situation.

During her time in the program, Netty steadily built stability for herself and her children. She first obtained employment at Big 5 before later accepting a cashier position at a local gas station. Through reliability and persistence, she continued advancing within the company and is now celebrating one full year there as a General Assistant Manager.

In addition to her professional growth, Netty successfully saved more than $11,000 and improved her credit score to 666, creating a much stronger financial foundation for her family’s future.

We're excited to see how Netty and her family continue to grow and thrive in their new position of permanence. 🫶💜

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: RC PHOTO CLUB

Today, we want to shine a spotlight on one of our incredible community partners, The RC Photo Club, Inc.!

Many of our supporters recently experienced their amazing work firsthand as their talented photographers documented our annual Gala. Throughout the evening, their photographers were not only professional and skilled but also incredibly personable. They actively engaged with our guests, helped people feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera, and created a fun and welcoming experience that everyone genuinely enjoyed.

The quality of their photography was outstanding, beautifully capturing the energy, joy, and impact of the event. Their images help us tell the story of our mission and preserve the special moments that make our community so remarkable.

The RC Photo Club has been a strong supporter of Foothill Family Shelter, generously donating their time and talents to document our events and the important work we do throughout the community. They do this to support local nonprofits and community organizations, and their dedication to giving back is truly inspiring.

With approximately 60 members from a variety of social and academic backgrounds, the RC Photo Club brings together individuals who share a passion for photography, creativity, learning, and community service. We are incredibly grateful for the partnership we have built with them, and we look forward to continuing our work together at future events and creating even more opportunities to showcase the impact being made in our community.

If you're a photography enthusiast—or simply someone looking to connect with a great group of people who share your passion—we encourage you to check them out! They are always welcoming new photographers who want to learn, grow, and share their love of photography with others.

Thank you, RC Photo Club, for your generosity, talent, and unwavering support of Foothill Family Shelter. We couldn't do what we do without community partners like you!

Elizabeth and Zander, a family of three, are transitioning into permanent housing after successfully completing our program.

When Elizabeth first entered the program, she came alone and was working an entry-level warehouse position while working hard to rebuild stability for her family. During her time in the program, she regained custody of her daughter, began pursuing her education in radiology, and secured a better-paying position with a stable set schedule that allows her to continue building toward her career goals.

Zander later joined the program and has continued progressing in his union job, entering his fifth year as an apprentice worker. Through teamwork and sacrifice, Elizabeth and Zander saved more than $28,000 while preparing for their family’s future.

Their daughter has also flourished during this journey, remaining active in AVID, cheer, and dance. Watching this family reunite, grow stronger together, and achieve long-term stability has been inspiring for both staff and fellow residents. Congratulations to this beautiful family for reaching this milestone! 💜

HOME AT LAST 🏠 Amanda, a single mother of two, is moving into permanent housing after overcoming significant barriers and achieving major personal growth during her time in the program.

When Amanda entered the shelter, she was navigating recovery from previous substance abuse, had recently started a new job, and was facing an open DCFS case. Despite these challenges, she remained focused on creating a better future for herself and her children.

Throughout the program, Amanda consistently worked toward stability, maintained employment, and secured a new job opportunity that helped strengthen her financial independence. One of her greatest accomplishments was successfully closing her DCFS case, allowing her family to move forward with renewed confidence.

By the completion of the program, Amanda had saved nearly $8,500 and demonstrated tremendous perseverance, accountability, and growth. We are so proud of Amanda for navigating and conquering every obstacle in front of her and paving a new path for her family, and we're excited to see them begin a new chapter! 💜
