Resolution 36-26 - Recognizing October 2026 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Upper Darby Township’s Planning & Zoning Manager, Joshua Chast, participated in the American Planning Association’s Annual Conference in Bethlehem, PA, focused on “Forging the Next 250 Through Preservation, Innovation, and Collaboration.” American Planning Association, Pennsylvania Chapter, Southeast Section

The conference featured sessions on critical topics including land use planning, affordable housing, zoning, sustainable infrastructure, transportation planning, historic preservation, geographic information systems (GIS), and economic development strategies designed to strengthen communities across diverse urban and rural settings. American Planning Association

The conference provided a valuable opportunity to expand professional knowledge, participate in training, and exchange ideas with fellow planners from across the Commonwealth. Upper Darby Township looks forward to applying these insights to support thoughtful planning, sustainable growth, and continued community development.

October 27th is the last day to request a mail-in or absentee ballot: vote.pa.gov/applymailballot

November 3rd is the general election, polls are open from 7AM-8PM

Leaf Collection in Upper Darby Township will begin Monday, October 19, 2026, and goes through December 18, 2026.

First up: October 19 thru October 23 - District 2 and 5

Here's what to know:
All leaves must be placed to the curb (the area between the sidewalk and the curb) by Monday morning of your scheduled weeks for pickup.
No leaves are permitted in the street or sewer drain.
Keep leaf piles accessible and do not place them between parked cars.
Leaves mixed with grass clippings, rocks, wood, or trash will not be collected.
Leaf collection will take place according to the schedule posted, weather permitting. Any changes to the schedule will be posted to the Township website.

Upper Darby Township Recreation and the Upper Darby Police Department invite you to join us for our 2nd annual Halloween-themed Walk with Radar!

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 17, 2026, 10:00 AM
Gillespie Park, N. Sycamore Ave, Clifton Heights, PA 19018

This festive walk is extra special — we’re inviting participants to bring along their well-behaved dogs to enjoy the fun too.

All dogs must be vaccinated and on a secure, non-retractable leash.

To add to the Halloween spirit, we encourage you and your pup to dress in costume — though it’s not required, we’d love to see some spooky, silly, or adorable outfits! Treat bags will be provided for all pups in attendance.

Things to Remember:
- Wear comfortable walking shoes
- Bring water for yourself and your pup
- Please don’t feed K9 Radar
- No registration required
