🚨 Safety Zone Update – Port St. Joe, FL 🚨

The ordnance clearing operations safety zone in Port St. Joe has been successfully addressed. Thanks to the swift response from the U.S. Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit, our duty crew was able to transport specialists on scene to safely render all unexploded ordnance secure.

This operation highlights teamwork at its best—working together to protect our waterways and keep mariners safe.

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of the public during this operation.

We have confirmed that the red/orange circular buoys, labeled “USAF” are accurately marking the boundary of the designated safety zone.

We sincerely apologize for our earlier posts and technical deficiencies. We appreciate your patience as we worked to verify this information. A special thank you to the U.S. Air Force for placing these highly visible markers to help ensure everyone’s safety.

This is an important update to the safety zone schedule for the 2026 Gulf Salute Air Show.

🗓 Updated Safety Zone Hours:

- April 9: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- April 10–12: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM daily

We apologize for the last-minute changes and any confusion this may have caused. These adjustments were made to support our partners and to ensure a safe maritime environment for both spectators and participating aircraft.

🚨Gulf Salute Air Show Safety Zone| April 9–12 | April 9th: 2:30 PM-5 PM and April 10-12th: 9:30 AM – 5 PM 🚨

The skies—and waters—will be alive with excitement during the Gulf Salute Air Show! As you plan your weekend on the water, we remind all mariners to prioritize safety while enjoying the event.

⚠️ **Safety Zone Enforcement**
A designated Safety Zone will be in effect during show hours. Please see the below Marine Safety Information Bulletin for coordinates. All vessels must remain clear of the established restricted area. This zone is in place to protect both spectators and performers. Entering a Safety Zone without authorization is dangerous and may result in enforcement action.

🚤 **Responsible Boating Matters**
Help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone:
• Operate at safe speeds and maintain situational awareness
• Do not overload your vessels
• Keep a proper lookout for other vessels and law enforcement
• Follow all navigation rules and established restrictions
• Avoid boating under the influence—designate a sober operator
• Be cautious of illegal charter vessels
• Monitor VHF-FM Channel 16 for important updates

👮‍♂️ Coast Guard crews and partner agencies will be on patrol throughout the event to ensure compliance and safety.

Today, we pause to remember the lives forever changed on December 7, 1941 — “a date which will live in infamy.”

🇺🇸 Eighty-four years later, the courage, sacrifice, and resilience shown at Pearl Harbor continue to echo through our history.

We honor the service members who never made it home, the survivors who carried the memories forward, and all who answered the call in the days that followed. May we never forget the cost of freedom and the strength of a nation united.

Congratulations to the new Flotilla Commander, Vice Flotilla Command, and staff officers of United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 01-09, Panama City.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is 21 thousand volunteer members strong serving our nation and our communities in 793 local units. They contribute 3.8 million hours per year in support of the U.S. Coast Guard, including in the classroom, at the ramp & pier, and operating 1,800 vessels, 160 aircraft and 1,400 radio facilities.
