Wells Memorial Library From despair to repair; tears to volunteers; muck to good luck. Wells Memorial Library is a public library located in Upper Jay, New York.

Upper Jay is a rural mountain hamlet with a population of 326 people. Besides the library, a Post Office, a Volunteer Fire Department, and a small motel, Upper Jay is also home to the Upper Jay Art Center and Recovery Lounge. Our library is a place where people catch up on some reading, surf the Web, research a family genealogy or the history of your home, attend a meeting, gather for an artist re

ception, or take out a movie for the family to watch after dinner. With the many resources and programs that Wells Memorial Library offers, we bring people together. With our free use of public computers you can check your email, keep up on homework, and have help with a school project all with one convenient stop. We provide a nice place for quiet research that is comfortable for anyone.

Now that our new library director Nancy has settled in, she has taken over the reins of our social media and publicity. Unfortunately, we could not figure out how to have her become admin of this page, so to find out new information about the library go to

Beginning Wednesday, November 1st, Wells Memorial Library will be open on Wednesdays from 3 pm until 8 pm. The other days will remain the same.
