Last night August 12th at approximately 1015pm the Northshore Dive Team was requested by Lakeport Fire to assist in the recovery of a vehicle which drove off into Clearlake at the boat ramp next door to the Skylark Motel. There were 5 occupants luckily all managed to extricate themselves from the vehicle. With the assistance of Lakeport PD and All in One towing approximately 21/2 hours later the vehicle was recovered no injuries to any first responders. Word of advice make sure your insurance company covers recovery towing, the companies could charge you a very large hourly fee. Many of our local boat ramps are not marked so please be careful. You should carry multiple window punches in your vehicle so if needed from the inside you pop your windows to get out, remember you will not be able to open your door.

Your Northshore Dive Team worked long into the night to recover this car from Cache Creek off of Old Highway 53. If anybody has any info of this incident please notify Clearlake Police Dept.

Your Northshore Dive Team Dive completed a Public Safety Dive course in Sacramento this past week. This team is a volunteer Dive Team does all the recoveries in Lake County. Our goal is when we are deployed is for all of us to come home to our loved one and to provide closure for the families. If you’re interested in joining this team we have plenty of openings. There no requirements in joining reach out to our main station in Lucerne for an application.

The start to the weekend, Clearlake may look calm. We responded to a kayaker that drowned in the Keys area, please wear your life jackets they are very cool. Remember that Clearlake is still cold wear that jacket.
