Director of the Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development, Eric Brown, (2nd from the left) is joined by the developers of the Belnor for the Groundbreaking Ceremony. The Belnor will be a new construction senior community located at 3800 St. Barnabas Road, Suitland, MD. It will be completed in July 2018. The Belnor will be a 122 unit apartment building with 96 – 1 bedroom and 26 – 2 bedrooms.

DHCD Receives Impact Award for Excellence from the Community Development Network of Maryland

Eric C. Brown, Director of the Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and his Housing Team accept the Impact Award of Excellence from the Community Development Network of Maryland for the work in affordable housing the department has accomplished over the last 5 years. Since 2012, DHCD has successfully co-financed 6 new construction projects and helped preserve 13 affordable housing projects through renovation and rehabilitation. These include multi-family and senior communities. In addition, the Redevelopment Authority has 7 mixed-use housing projects completed or underway, bring the total development costs for both agencies to almost $1 Billion Dollars!

Today, Agency Director Eric Brown addressed the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) at their monthly membership meeting. He discussed the Prince George's County Comprehensive Housing Strategy, it purpose, timeline and how their membership would be involved in the process of developing the Strategy.
