Student Officers from Session 155 participated in mandatory OC Spray Certification Training, which included firsthand exposure to OC spray as a critical component of the program. This training is designed to ensure officers understand the physical and psychological effects of OC exposure while learning to maintain composure, make sound decisions, and continue functioning effectively under stress.

Experiencing these conditions firsthand prepares our officers to respond professionally, safely, and confidently in real-world situations where OC deployment may be necessary.

If you are ready to challenge yourself and serve your community, apply today at PGPOLICE.ORG (https://www.pgpolice.org/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

Today’s training was undoubtedly memorable, but every second of discomfort was done for a reason. By experiencing the effects firsthand, our recruits now truly understand the impact of the tools they carry and the resilience required to stay in the fight.

Stay tuned for the next video where we share their full in depth OC Experience in our Becoming the Badge series!

Welcome to the Fi****ms Examination Unit (FEU). Our FEU Officers are one of our behind-the-scenes units that assist every investigation involving a firearm. Between firearm test fires, serial number restorations, and fired cartridge analysis, they have the ability to link fi****ms used in specific crimes.

Although joining PGPD doesn’t require a 4-year college degree, entrance into this unit does due to the nature of work in the lab being licensed by the State of Maryland.

Most officers are responsible for training and sharpening their own skills. But in the Prince George’s County Police Department K9 Section, it goes a step further.

K9 Handlers don’t just train themselves, they train their partners, too.

From simulated barricades and handler tactics to precision bite work, every exercise is designed to strengthen performance and build trust between handler and K9. This training isn’t optional, it’s essential.

It’s how elite teams are built.
It’s how bonds are formed.
And it’s what makes them ready when it matters most.

Just like K9 Ryker said: APPLY NOW and be ready to back them up.
