Old Mission Church The Wyandot Indian Mission was founded by John Stewart in 1816. Open Friday, Sat. & Sun. 1-4 pm (June, July, August)

Three years later, the Wyandot Mission became the first officially recognized mission of the Methodist Episcopal Church in America.

🙌 Remember that God is in control of everything.

Sunday Service at the Old Mission Church — August 9, 2026

Pastor Scott Moore led today’s Sunday morning service with a thought-provoking invitation: What is our generosity of thought?

He shared the idea of a philosopher who called this a “posture of mind,” our resting, natural way of thinking. Pastor Scott challenged us to consider how often we practice “othering” and encouraged us instead to look at others through the lens of grace.

As Amos 3:3 reminds us, “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” Perhaps part of walking together is choosing to see one another with understanding, compassion, and grace.

Jesus saw people as they were. He didn’t “other” people the way we so often do. What would it look like if we followed His example?

A meaningful message to carry with us into the week: Let grace shape our posture of mind.

More than 200 years ago, John Stewart came to this place with a simple mission: to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the Wyandots.

His words still echo through the years:
"Be Faithful."

Generations have come and gone.
The world has changed.
But God's faithfulness has never changed.

Thank you to Elaine Sturtz for leading our worship service this Sunday morning.

Elaine shared from John 14, reading from the Bible she received as a high school graduation gift from Wesley Chapel. She said the Bible a treasured reminder of God's faithfulness through the years.

She reminded us that Jesus is always with us and described John 14:6 as our "GPS to Heaven,” pointing us to the only way to the Father through Christ.

She also challenged us to consider, "What is trust?" and encouraged us with Jesus' words: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me." (John 14:1)

May we walk in faith and trust Him each day.
