Mutual Aid Box Alarm 3-14 2nd Alarm Building Fire with HAZMAT

Shortly before 8pm Monday evening, May 18th, Upperco volunteers were alerted to respond on the second alarm building fire with HAZMAT at the Battery Warehouse in the 800blk of Baltimore Blvd (Rte. 140) in Westminster.

E852 responded with 5 volunteers aboard, along with units and personnel from multiple companies and departments from Carroll and Baltimore Counties.

E852’s crew worked for several hours in support of fire suppression and HAZMAT mitigation operations before returning back to our quarters late last night.

Additional volunteers remained at the station and handled an additional call for a medical emergency in the Upperco community while E852 was out on the fire as well.

Numerous photos and videos attached, captured by several UVFC members on the scene of the fire, along with D. Waynick from the Westminster community.

On Saturday, May 16, your Upperco volunteers hosted our second motorsports event of the year, our ever-popular Upperco Demolition Derby!

Our volunteers spent countless hours organizing and coordinating this event, and our community came out in droves once again, enjoying the beautiful weather and an exciting day of racing and smash-up action!

Special thanks to our partners and friends from the Butler VFC and Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company for providing equipment and crews to ensure the safety of our participants and staff, and, as always, your Upperco volunteers provided medical and fire crews for the event and our community throughout the day.

Thank you to all who supported us and help to make these events a success!
