Principal's Scholars Program The Principal’s Scholars Program is a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign math and science initiative to prepare underrepresented students for college.

The Principal's Scholars Program has provided college readiness resources to more than 60,000 students statewide in grades 5 through 12. PSP programs focus on developing critical thinking skills, computational literacy and character-based educational methodology as a systematic education reform strategy.

It’s that time of year again! 📚

This Fall, the Principal's Scholars Program is excited to offer a College Essay Writing Workshop on 5-conseuctive Saturday mornings, specifically for high school seniors (located in the Champaign/ Urbana area) to help them draft, revise, and finalize their college application essays.

This workshop will provide step-by-step guidance in a supportive, collaborative, and fun environment designed to reduce writing anxiety. Students will learn proven strategies to strengthen their essays from University faculty and staff to help set themselves up for success in the 2026-2027 application cycle!

Dates: Saturdays: Sept 26 | Oct 3, 10, 17, 24

Time: 9:00AM - 12:00PM (Light Snacks Provided)

Location: Principal's Scholars Program Urbana Office | 1112 W. University Ave, Suite 201, Urbana, IL 61801
