At WIC, we know how important it is to incorporate fruits and vegetables into your family’s diet! Fruits and vegetables provide essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber that help the growth of your littles. 💪Luckily, there are so many creative ways of incorporating fruits and veggies into your meals! Here are a few tips to easily include fruits and vegetables in your little one’s diet.

🍇Keep fruit and veggie snacks easily accessible. Keep a bowl of washed grapes or baby carrots in the fridge for kids to grab when they're hungry!

🍕Use fruits and veggies as toppings for kid-friendly dishes like pizza, pasta, or yogurt parfaits.

🍝Sneak veggies into favorite dishes! Try blending them into smoothies, sauces, or batter.

Have any tips for adding fruits and veggies into meals? Let us know in the comments below!

September is Whole Grain Month🌾🍞 Whole grains are packed with nutrients that fuel your family's growth! Unlike refined grains, whole grains keep the entire grain kernel—giving you more fiber, B vitamins, and minerals to keep you feeling full and energized.

Your WIC benefits cover whole grains like whole-wheat bread, brown rice, oats, corn tortillas, whole-grain pasta, and more! Talk to your WIC dietitian for more information and for easy ways to include whole grains in your family’s diet.
