Champaign County Administrative Services Department (photographed) and several departments, offices, and individuals throughout the county wore blue earlier this month in recognition of Wear Blue Day and Child Abuse Prevention Month. We're proud to stand in support of children, families, and prevention efforts in our community.

We especially want to recognize the important work of the Champaign County Children's Advocacy Center, whose commitment matters every day, but particularly this month as they've worked tirelessly to raise awareness and encourage community involvement.

Prevention is a shared responsibility, and awareness is one way we show up together. Thanks, CAC, for all of your coordination for this month, and for the work you do every day for our children and families.

The Champaign County Mental Health Board has approved their Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2025, January 1 to December 31, 2025.

Included are a financial accounting of revenue and expenditures, agency program allocations, service activity definitions and totals by agency and program, aggregate demographic and residency data, and service sector charts for the past year.

Alright… we need to talk.

Not like a “you’re in trouble” talk...more like a “we’re all trying our best but let’s not make this harder than it needs to be” talk.

We’ve had a recent spike in people getting into cars and stealing unsecured fi****ms. Which - let’s be clear - is not okay. Those people are the problem. We are actively working on that.

BUT as friendly reminder...
Leaving a firearm unsecured in your car overnight is basically the equivalent of leaving a bag of Oreo's out in front of your 5-year-old...bruh those things are going to be gone when you get back.

We’re not mad. We’re just… confused. And a little concerned.

If your firearm isn’t on you, it should be secured in a safe or locked up. That tiny extra step helps keep it out of the wrong hands and off the street.

And before you say, “I should really get a safe…” and then immediately don’t do that -
we’ve got you covered.

Adorable pups available for adoption at Champaign County Animal Control today until 2pm! We started with 8 and there’s 4 left and they can’t wait to find their furever families!

Don’t miss our adoption event tomorrow! Your new best friend is waiting! 🐶💙🐱

Huge shout out to the amazing The Fur Mama: Your Pet’s Second Best Friend, who put an immense amount of energy and love into making these wonderful and thoughtful gift baskets with lots of goodies for our animals!

We will be including a free goodie basket to go home with the dogs adopted from our Adoption Event tomorrow, April 11, 2026. All the the other goodies will be distributed to our in house critters to make sure everyone can enjoy from the treats, toys, and blankets donated to us.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our Adoption Event tomorrow at Champaign County Animal Control, 210 Art Bartell Rd, Urbana.

Residents at JDC made Easter gift baskets for residents of a local memory care facility, decorating them and filling them with snacks. Over Easter weekend, the treats were delivered to residents at Savoy Place Memory Care. 🍬🥚🐰

The Champaign County Sheriff's Office is excited to cheer on the Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team as they play for a chance at the Final Four! This is a big moment for our community, and we’re proud to support the team and all the fans showing their Illini spirit.

As you celebrate, we ask everyone to do so responsibly and safely:
🚗 Don’t drink and drive - plan ahead for a sober ride
🚶 Be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas
📢 Celebrate with pride, but respect others and public property
