Experience the KRT's history and nature on a leisurely 3-mile ride* from Oakwood to the KRT Trestle Bridge.

Participants will meet at the Oakwood KRT Rest Node, 106 South Scott Street, Oakwood, at 4:30pm. We will bike three miles to the KRT Trestle Bridge at a leisurely pace with a VCCD educator sharing KRT history and nature highlights along the way.

The guided portion of the program will end at the KRT Trestle Bridge by 6pm. *Participants can then bike back to Oakwood at their own pace (6 miles round trip) or arrange vehicle pick up at the KRT Trestle Bridge Parking Lot, 17037 Po***ck Ln, Oakwood, IL 61858.

Program is open to all ages; under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult. Participants need to provide their own bike. Registration is $5/person at https://KRTbike2026.eventbrite.com.

The Kickapoo Rail Trail has been decades in the making. This summer will see many of those final connection points take place.
