Now that back-to-school season is here, it's a great time to ensure your child is up-to-date on vaccines!

Upcoming Back-to-School Vaccine Clinics put on by Community Health & Wellness Partners are scheduled at their local School-Based Health Centers:

📍 Graham: September 2 | 7:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
📍 Triad: September 15 | 7:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
📍 West Liberty-Salem: September 15 | 7:30 a.m.–3 p.m.

These clinics can help students receive the vaccines required for Kindergarten, 7th grade, and 12th grade. Please check the individual flyers for registration details.

Reminder: Triad’s School-Based Health Center can serve anyone in the community. Graham and West Liberty-Salem can serve students and their households, as well as faculty and their households.

As part of Child Support Awareness Month and Champaign County DJFS’s ongoing commitment to educating our team and raising awareness about the experiences and needs of domestic violence survivors within the child support system, our staff participated in Trauma-Informed Communication for Child Support Enforcement Professionals training.

The Director, the Child Support Team, and the Champaign County Family Court Deputy Clerk attended a session presented by Deborah Brownlee LISW Program Manager from TCN’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Center Soteria House.

The training explored common communication challenges between domestic violence survivors and child support professionals, the reasons these challenges occur, and practical “Say It Better” approaches we can use. These tools will help us carry out our duties more effectively while supporting survivor safety, reducing potential triggers, and encouraging more comfortable and cooperative engagement with the child support process.
