π₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯π Fire Prevention Week π₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯π
As we close out fire prevention week, we hope that we have made an impression on your children so they will talk to you about what to do in case you have a fire in your home. We encourage you to go through the items we sent home with them and talk to them about some of the information we sent home with them. Our plan is to create this conversation in your house so you can create your escape plan with your entire family and have that designated meeting place outside your home. Hopefully we never have to run on a fire at your residence but if we do, we hope your family is safe because you were prepared. Make sure you check those smoke detectors as well so you can get early detection of a possible fire in your home.
This years theme was CHARGE into Fire Safety: Safety Charging Is a Superpower. Lithium-ion batteries have became the industry standard in portable electronics, tools, phones, toys, and energy storage. However if we donβt take care of these items they can start fires in our home. Charging with improper cords and over-charging can cause your device to overheat and go into thermal runaway. Use the cord or charger that came with your product and unplug when the product is fully charged. When the product or battery is not working take them to a recycling center. Do not throw them in the trash. Loweβs has a place to recycle or go to call2recycle.org for more locations and other information.
