Pointe North Nature Park Needs You!

We’re raising funds to improve park amenities and accessibility for everyone in our community. Your donation helps us grow—and you can even have your own custom sign displayed on the park gate!

We’re also looking for volunteers to help open and close the park gate each day. If you love the park and want to lend a hand, we’d be grateful for your support.

Every bit of help makes a difference. 💚

Blooming now in Pointe North nature Park!

Happy April, Master Gardener Volunteers! Our Plant of the Month is called Virginia bluebells. These native North American plants are members of the borage family, making them relatives of forget-me-nots and comfrey. They are also spring ephemerals, meaning they bloom for a brief period each spring, set seed, then whither and go dormant for the rest of the year. Virginia bluebells prefer to grow in rich, moist soils and are typically found in forest ecosystems. To learn more about these and other native Ohio wildflowers, check out the Ohio Department of Natural Resources's spring wildflowers guide:https://knoxcountyparks.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Pub_5494_Spring-Wildflowers-of-Ohio-Field-Guide.pdf
