REMINDER: THIS SUNDAY, MAY 31ST!

Get ready Ursa! Fishing For Freedom will make their way through Ursa around 1:45pm on this coming Sunday, May 31st! Let’s line the streets and show our respect! 🇺🇸

For those new here, Fishing For Freedom is an annual event for our local veterans. Hundreds of motorcycles es**rt our local veterans through Ursa. Coming from Lima they will head south on North Warsaw, turning onto West Maple. On the day of, we will update the Ursa page with a better timeframe as to when they are coming through.

Also, be sure to stop by the Amvets in Ursa- they will be open at noon!

Get ready for ROAD BOWLING! Hosted by the Ursa Fire Protection District

Date: June 13th, 2026
Location: Amvets in Ursa Il
Registration begins at 1:45pm
Staggered start begins at 2:00 pm.

$160 for 4 person team, plus $20 refundable ball deposit.

Transportation shuttle will take teams out to the road bowling course from Amvets and pick up at the end of the course to return to Amvets. Course is approximately 1.8 miles.

Mini Games along the way. "Longest Roll" & "Bag Toss"

BYOB while on the course. NO OUTSIDE BEVERAGES ALLOWED WHILE AT AMVETS!

Food will be provided at Amvets for purchase (burgers, brats, chips, drinks)

Prizes for top 3 teams!

Liz Bentley will take the stage around 7 pm!
Please stick around and enjoy some great live music!

Silent Auction begins at 5 pm and will end at 9 pm. No need to be present to win.

Play at your own risk, Ursa Fire Protection District is not responsible for accidents!
Waivers for all players will be required at sign in.

We would like to thank and congratulate Paul Woodworth on his many years of service with the Ursa Fire Protection District. Paul became a volunteer fireman in 1980 and became a Fireman/Trustee in 2002. His contributions to this department are many and we thank him for his time serving this community!

Fire fighters and EMS crews representing Lima, Ursa, Mendon, Loraine, Camp Point, and Adams Co. attended a First Reponders Electrical Safety Training last night in Lima provided by Adams Electric Cooperative. The training covered pole fires, downed power lines, equipment in lines, pad-mounted transformers, underground, pulling meters, electric vehicles, and solar installations. For more information on this training for first responders, contact Laura Bergman or Mike Olson at Adams Electric.

First Alert: A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the Tri-States until this evening. Winds will gust from the southwest up to 35mph. Pair this with dry conditions, any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended today.
