Motorists Warning:
We are alerting drivers to a major two-vehicle accident in Kinney County on Highway 90 W.,
The crash involves a fatality.

Road Closure Update:
Highway 90 W will be shut down until approximately 9:00 AM.**

Please Use Alternate Routes:
We are asking all motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway reopens.

⚠️ ATTENTION: 19 Mile Bridge Crossing and Cooksey Dam Crossing (Off Hwy. 55) ⚠️

Please read this important safety notice prior to traveling to these crossings!

🚧 Barricades are in place for your safety. 🚧

❇️Please do not disregard or move the barricades.❇️

🚗Do not attempt to drive past the closures.🚗

🛑Please follow all posted signs and barricades.🛑

Below is the charge you could face for disregarding barricades placed prior to these crossings.

Texas Transportation Code - TRANSP § 472.022. Obeying Warning Signs and Barricades

* A person commits an offense if the person:
* disobeys the instructions, signals, warnings, or markings of a warning sign; or
* drives around a barricade

Each violation of this section is a separate offense.

‼️ If a person commits an offense where a warning sign or barricade has been placed because water is over any portion of a road, street, or highway, the offense is a Class B misdemeanor. ‼️

🚧“Barricade” means an obstruction: placed on or across a road, street, or highway of this state by the department, a political subdivision of this state, or a contractor or subcontractor constructing or repairing the road, street, or highway under authorization of the department or a political subdivision of this state; and placed to prevent the passage of motor vehicles over the road, street, or highway during construction, repair, or dangerous conditions.🚧

Update: The road to access the river at the Dam off Hwy 55 has also been closed due to it being damaged during the flood.

Please avoid these areas. We know the river looks beautiful but there are safer areas to swim!

Please read this important safety notice if you frequently travel this area.

The lower road is CLOSED due to concrete damage from the recent flood.
The lower bridge road is NOT safe for motor vehicles.
**A large section of concrete is missing exposing rebar**, creating a serious hazard and potential danger.
