I know being physically present at board meetings is difficult for busy parents and families, so I just want to make sure you know the resources you have available to keep yourself posted at home.

We are a board of elected officials, volunteering our time to try our best to serve our own community outside of our careers, jobs, and family duties. This will be our 2nd meeting as a new board and I know we have a lot to do, but I hope we can continue to build a positive relationship between the board and the community moving forward.

💙 Our friends at the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas are offering a special opportunity for local youth this summer through Camp Journey, a free grief camp for adolescents ages 12–16 who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

Camp Journey provides a supportive and caring environment where participants can connect with others who understand their experiences while exploring healing through expressive arts, music therapy, outdoor activities, and even a special basketball day with representatives from the San Antonio Spurs.

Grief can feel isolating, but no child should have to navigate it alone. We encourage families who may benefit from this program to learn more and consider registering.

Uvalde High School placed players on the District 27-4A All-District girls basketball team and the District 27-4A All-District boys basketball team.

The Lobos placed two players on the All-District first team, two players on the second team, and two players on the honorable mention list.

Tonight, the graduating class of Uvalde High School takes a triumphant step forward, and I couldn't be more proud of the resilience and determination each of you has shown.

Your class has faced challenges that few can truly comprehend, and yet, you've persevered with remarkable strength. For the hardships you've endured, I am sorry, but for your courage and resilience, I am deeply grateful.

Graduates, you've demonstrated an inspiring commitment to reaching this milestone, even when the path ahead seemed uncertain. As you embark on this new chapter, I hope you'll hold onto the knowledge that your worth and value come from within. May you draw strength from your roots, pride in your accomplishments, and unwavering support from our community.
