The amazing story is told of the so-called “Bread and Roses” strike of 1912 when 30,000 textile workers from 50 different nationalities stormed out of the massive mills in Lawrence, MA, which unfolded like something out of Dickens...a dynamite plot! a murder trial! hungry 'strike children" sent to sympathetic families in Vermont and Manhattan. Stories, photos and music.

Local Photographer, Damien Gaudet, to display photo project at River Bend Farm Visitors Center.

The project, titled UxbridgeNight, was created with the assistance of a grant from the Uxbridge and Massachusetts Cultural Councils. The grant allowed the printing of the images which will be on display and used by the town of Uxbridge for the benefit of the community.

Gaudet made these photographs of various locations in Uxbridge, Massachusetts late at night, in summer darkness. By using long exposures, the hope was to create a sense of reflection while looking at scenes we were likely to pass without a second glance during daylight.

An opening night reception/gallery event will be held at River Bend Farm in Uxbridge on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 from 7-8:30pm. The exhibit itself will be on display from October 14th through November 13th, 2011. All Are Welcome!
