In mid-June of last year, everything changed.
After more than five years as a machine operator, Eddie lost his job. At first, he was shocked but hopeful. He believed something else would come along. He applied. He interviewed. He kept trying. But the calls never turned into job offers.
Without steady income, he eventually lost his apartment. He borrowed from friends and family to stay afloat, but it wasn’t enough. The savings he had worked hard to build disappeared quickly. What he once thought would “never happen to me” became his reality.
He considered moving to Georgia to live with his family, but that would mean leaving his grandson and the community he loved behind. Eddie wanted to be there to watch his grandson grow up, so instead, he reached out to Nation’s Finest for help.
Eddie says this was the best decisions he's ever made. "They not only helped me get an apartment, but as I went through the process, they helped with my mental health and anxiety. Nation's Finest has so many different things they can assist you with that you can't help but feel that someone is on your side."
Today, Eddie is back on steady ground and looking toward the future with renewed hope. And most importantly, he’s right where he wants to be — close to his family.
